Passion flowers and hope

Where flowers bloom so does hope.
- Lady Bird Johnson, Public Roads: Where Flowers Bloom

Due to the huge amount of rain this year, my passion flowers have grown rampantly along with various fruits, flowers, weeds, and butterflies. In spite of all the bad news and trial balloons from various public officials over the weekend indicating that the public option for health care might disappear, my hope bloomed again today when 60 House Representatives signed a letter to Health and Human Services secretary Kathleen Sebelius stating they would not sign a health care bill without the public option. Hope for change galvanized us to elect Obama as President. Hope for change in our failed health care policy will galvanize us to hold our leaders responsible to ensure that all citizens have access to affordable health care. Now is the time to do the right thing. Hope blooms eternally.
